Lamb has been with Hampshire since the summer of 2004 |
Hampshire all-rounder Greg Lamb hopes to resurrect his career with another county after learning that his contract at the Rose Bowl will not be renewed. The Zimbabwe-born spinner has not played for the first team since Giles White became acting manager in August. The 27-year-old told BBC Radio Solent: "I was disappointed but I expected it. I am going to put my name out to other counties and see what I get back." South Africa-born batsman Kevin Latouf, 23, has also been released. Lamb has been with Hampshire since the summer of 2004 and was entrusted with the main spinner's role this season after the departure of Shane Warne and Shaun Udal. But he has taken just eight wickets at a cost of over 70 in nine Championship matches this summer. Latouf appeared in just one Friends Provident Trophy clash for the first team this season although he also spent two brief spells on loan to Warwickshire.
