Hampshire's 18-year-old spinner Liam Dawson has signed a new three-year contract to keep him at the Rose Bowl. The left-arm spinner and middle-order batsman has represented England at Under-19 level and has played a key role in Hampshire's return to form. Giles White, acting team manager, said: "The long-term deal that Liam has been offered reflects how highly he is regarded here. "We see him playing a big part in Hampshire's future." He added: "I can't think of a more exciting young prospect in the country." Dawson, who was nominated for the Young Cricketer of the Year award, said: "I'm delighted to have signed a new three-year contract with Hampshire. "The club has shown a lot of faith in me and I hope to repay with good performances."
