Gloucestershire's Banerjee working hard with coach Such
Banerjee was called up to the England performance squad in 2009
Gloucestershire left-arm spinner Vikram Banerjee has called on England performance squad coach Peter Such to help him in his pre-season preparation.
Banerjee took part in a three-week workshop with the former England off-spinner in South Africa, and will now be training with him at Nevil Road.
"Peter was really good on the trip," said Banerjee.
"I'll be chatting to him about the report on how I did and looking ahead to how I can further develop my game."
He added: "He is basically our spin guru, although I don't think he likes that term much. I worked mostly with him and Terry Jenner, who was out there in South Africa as a consultant coach, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
"He is finding the time to visit all the spinners who were involved to talk about the work we did over there and the future."
He told BBC Radio Bristol: "This summer is a big summer for me. If I can cement a really big season and take wickets in all forms of the game, we'll see what happens after that. If I can do that, things will take care of themselves."
Such, who played in 11 Tests for England, has been a part of county cricket for nearly 20 years, playing for Essex, Leicestershire and Nottingham.
"We received outstanding reports of Vikram's progress with the Performance Squad," said Gloucestershire director of cricket John Bracewell.
"It's a great initiative from the ECB to send Peter Such down to visit us and that their coaches are prepared to debrief with the players face-to-face.
"I am really looking forward to hearing what he has to say."
