Chairman Paul Russell says he is delighted that Glamorgan have been reinstated in the Twenty20 Cup.
Yorkshire's expulsion from the Cup for fielding an ineligible player was reduced on appeal on Monday.
They were given the win, depriving Nottinghamshire of two points, but Yorks were also penalised the points, sending Glam through to face Durham.
"It's fantastic news, we've got what we deserved, we do have a side capable of winning it," Russell told BBC Wales.
"One has to be careful not to make profit out of another's misery but we have contended from the outset that it would be unfair for Yorkshire to gain advantage from a game where they fielded an ineligible player.
"At the same time, to give Nottinghamshire points in respect of a game they had lost, and lost badly, had no logic to it, was unfair and there was no evidence to support it."
Yorkshire blundered by fielding the ineligible Pakistan-born Azeem Rafiq in their win against Nottinghamshire.
Rafiq, a talented off-spinner who has captained England Under-15s and Under-16s, holds a Pakistan passport, which means he was considered to be an overseas player.
Yorkshire had not deregistered Pakistan international Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, which meant Rafiq, who conceded 18 runs off his two overs against Notts, was ineligible to play as counties are only allowed to field one overseas player.
Russell revealed that Glamorgan had not been invited to the original hearing to decide Yorkshire's fate, but petitioned the England and Wales Cricket Board to be able to present their case.
"What is now clear is that counties ignore or treat lightly the regulations regarding registration at their peril," Russell added.
"But all this hard work behind the scenes falls away to nothing if we don't do of our best at the Riverside next Monday.
"We do have a side more than capable of taking us through to the finals day and one just hopes and prays that that's the one that turns up on Monday."
Glamorgan and Yorkshire both finished on 10 points but the Welsh county's superior net run rate means they will face Durham at Chester-le-Street in the last eight, although the 21 July date has yet to be confirmed officially.
