Glamorgan's Robert Croft said he had plenty of targets left after becoming the first Welshman to get 1,000 wickets and 10,000 first-class runs. "I'd like to play for as long as I can and be there when Glamorgan turn their fortunes around," said the 37-year-old.
The veteran off-spinner reached the 1,000 wicket mark when he trapped Northamptonshire's Niall O'Brien leg before wicket on Wednesday.
The ex-England man's first wicket was Graham Thorpe back in 1989.
He is the ninth Glamorgan player to pass the 1,000 wicket mark, following Don Shepherd (2218), Jack Mercer (1591), Tom Cartwright (1536), Johnnie Clay (1317), 'Butch' White (1143), Robin Hobbs (1099), Ossie Wheatley (1099) and Frank Ryan (1013).
Croft has more England caps than any other Welshman and captained Glamorgan for four years before stepping down at the end of last season.

"To me, Glamorgan are the best team in world cricket and it means so much to me to represent them," Croft told BBC Sport Wales.
"I'd like to thank all the coaches who have helped me through my career. There've been good and bad times, but it's all been worth it.
"Taking the 1,000th wicket was a surreal moment, everything in my cricket career flashed through my mind.
"I felt like my head would explode - to be honest, I haven't really slept for the past week.
"I'm spurred on by team success, but also by reaching goals as an individual. Those targets help the team prosper."
