Scott Styris back at Essex for 2011 Twenty20

Essex have re-signed all-rounder Scott Styris for the 2011 Twenty20 campaign, subject to clearance from the New Zealand Cricket Board.

The 35-year-old scored 392 runs in 13 innings for last season's semi-finalists, striking 24 sixes and 23 fours, at an average of 35.63.

In 15 matches he took 13 wickets at 31.38 with his right-arm pace bowling.

He has 29 New Zealand Test caps and continues to add to his tally of 169 One Day and 28 T20 internationals.

A stunning knock against Surrey in June, which saw the right-hander hit a century off 49 balls on his way to 106 not out, helped Essex into the knockout stages, but he was unable to continue with the side because of international commitments.

In New Zealand Styris had spent the last five years playing for Auckland but is set to return to former club Northern Districts for the upcoming campaign.
