McGain spent less than a month with Essex |
Australian leg-spinner Bryce McGain has left Essex after just three appearances for the county. McGain was signed as a replacement for Danish Kaneria who has returned to the county for the rest of the season after being dropped by Pakistan. The 38-year-old took 10 wickets in two County Championship games against Kent and Warwickshire. But now that Kaneria has returned to Essex for the rest of the summer, McGain has gone home to Australia. Essex have named a 14-man squad for the County Championship match against Somerset in Colchester which begins on Wednesday. It includes all-rounder Ryan ten Doeschate who was out for two months with a calf strain, but returned for Saturday's Twenty20 semi-final.
