Morkel has returned to Durham after a stint during the 2008 season
Durham's Twenty20 specialist Albie Morkel believes the current line-up is stronger than it was during his last spell at the Riverside two seasons ago.
Morkel, 28, helped Durham to finals day at Southampton in 2008, but is convinced the current crop has the ability to repeat that feat in 2010.
"Looking through the team we're better equipped," Morkel told BBC Newcastle.
"There are guys who can clear the boundary at will and that's what you need in the Twenty20 side."
Morkel added: "It all looks good, and we'll definitely be hard to beat."
With an impressive track record in both international Twenty20 with South Africa, and in the Indian Premier League with the Chennai Super Kings, Morkel has found himself in demand in the short-form game.
However, despite interest from other English counties, Morkel revealed Durham were always top of his list and that he is keen to enjoy his short stay in the North East.
"I had an offer from Derbyshire, but then when Durham contacted me two weeks later, I definitely decided on Durham.
"I've been here before. I enjoyed my stint here. It's a great set-up, great team and I'm happy to be back here. Hopefully, it'll be a successful six weeks."
Morkel, who bats left-handed but bowls fast-medium with his right arm, has scored 1,595 runs, including 115 fours and 88 sixes, and taken 93 wickets in 112 Twenty20 matches during his career so far.
