South African all-rounder Albie Morkel will rejoin Durham for the county champions' domestic Twenty20 campaign this season.

Morkel is a T20 specialist who last bolstered the county's ranks during the 2008 season, helping Geoff Cook's side to reach finals day at Southampton.

The 28-year-old has been a prolific batsman in the Indian Premier League with Chennai Super Kings.

Durham are also hopeful of signing New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor.

Morkel, who is the first cricket to reach the milestone of 100 appearances in Twenty20, has made 1,416 runs, with 75 sixes and 107 fours, in the shortened form of the game.
