Derbyshire academy graduate Paul Borrington's impressive form has been rewarded with a new two-year deal at the club. The contract will see the 20-year-old right-hander turn professional at the end of his final year at Loughborough University next summer. Head of cricket John Morris told the club website: "Paul has shown maturity beyond his years. "He thoroughly deserves his first professional contract." The batsman got a maiden first-class century as he scored an unbeaten 102 to earn Loughborough students a draw against Worcestershire in May. Morris said: "With a solid technique and an excellent temperament already in place, Paul can go on to enjoy a very successful career and we will give him every opportunity to achieve that here at Derbyshire."
