George Walker has been named as the new Norfolk cricket captain.
The 26-year-old former Leicestershire bowler takes over from Carl Rogers who stepped down at the end of last season.
"I'm very excited, it's a great honour and I am very pleased to have been given the captaincy," Walker told BBC Radio Norfolk.
"I knew at the last game that Carl was stepping down and I was vice-captain last year so I hoped it might go in succession like that," he added.
"But you never know because there were quite a few other names like Chris Brown and James Spellman or Trevor Ward."
The left-arm spinner, who played seven times for Leicestershire, added that he thought there were a number of reasons for his appointment.
We've got a very good team and potentially a couple of extra players for next season so fingers crossed we can progress

"I like to think I get on well with most of the team and I like to think I acquitted myself during the festival [Norfolk Festival of Cricket]," Walker said.
"And I think maybe it's a decision looking at the long term, that I can do it not just for one year but for a number of years."
Norfolk failed to qualify from their group in the Minor Counties Trophy and finished seventh in the Minor Counties Championship last season, but Walker said he was positive about the side's future.
"We've got a very good team and potentially a couple of extra players for next season so fingers crossed we can progress in the right way next year.
"We've got a vast amount of experience and they'll be able to give me advice as we progress in the game."
