COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION ONE, Headingley Yorkshire v Somerset 11-14 June CLOSE OF PLAY, DAY THREE: Yorkshire 277 & 248 Somerset 230 & 88-1 (Yorks 5pts, Somerset 4pts)
Jonathan Bairstow's superb unbeaten 82 gave Yorkshire a fighting chance of securing a first Championship win of the season against Somerset. Yorkshire who started day three on 26-1, reached 248 at the end of their second innings largely thanks to Bairstow's fluent knock. Somerset were left needing 296 to win and made good progress on a difficult pitch to set up a tense final day. Marcus Trescothick hit a fine unbeaten 58 as Somerset ended on 88-1.
