Clark is the youngest forward to appear in the Guinness Premiership |
Leeds Carnegie's Calum Clark will captain England Under-20s against Samoa in Tokyo on Saturday. The flanker returns for the decisive Pool B encounter in the Junior World Championships after a knee injury. "I've done a lot of work with the physios at Leeds and with Lesley McBride in the England camp, who's been great," said Clark. "At one point, I wasn't expecting I would be here so any rugby I can play is a bonus now." Clark, who led England in the RBS Under-20 Six Nations earlier this year, takes over the leadership from Bristol centre Luke Eves. Clark added: ""Luke Eves has captained the side in the last two games and he's done a great job. "Luke's a great mate of mine and I know how much it's meant to him, so it's good to be back playing with him. He's such an important influence in the team. "Samoa is a massive game and I'm pleased to be back for it. "We just need to go into the game with the right attitude, and we've worked very hard in training. "They're a dangerous side so we need to improve things like our one-on-one tackling, win the collisions and quieten them down."
