COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP DIVISION TWO, Derby Derbyshire v Surrey 22-25 April (Play starts 1100 BST) CLOSE OF PLAY, DAY THREE: Surrey 131 and 360, Derbyshire 274 and 144-2(Derbyshire 5pts, Surrey 3pts)
Derbyshire still need another 73 runs for victory going into the final day against Surrey at the County Ground.
Resuming at 213-3, Usman Afzaal (59), James Benning (36) and Chris Schofield (31no) all contributed in Surrey's 360.
But that left Derbyshire with a day and half to get 217 to win and they have so far shown patience on a turning pitch to get two thirds of the way on 144-2.
Scott Stubbings looks the mainstay, unbeaten on 66 after putting on 88 for the first wicket with Garry Park (49).
South African Park had earlier also done his bit with the ball, taking 3-25, adding to his scalp of centurion Scott Newman the previous evening by finishing off Surrey's 10 and jack, fellow South African Andre Nel and West Indian Pedro Collins.
