Nine wickets from leg-spinner Elliot Green saw Shrewsbury crowned Birmingham League champions after they beat Kidderminster Victoria on Saturday. Green took 9-77 as hosts Kidderminster chased Shrewsbury's 196-6 from 53 overs. Victoria fell 37 runs short, having been 93-1 after 26 overs. A win for Kidderminster could have taken them to the title, but defeat saw them drop to third. Second-placed Knowle and Dorridge only managed a winning draw at Wellington. Green finished with 57 wickets in the Premier League while captain Ed Foster, who scored 58, notched more than 900 runs for the season. Wellington finished fifth in the Premier League, Shifnal eighth in Division One, Bridgnorth sixth and Whitchurch eighth in Division Two, and Oswestry finished seventh in Division Three. Madeley and Newport picked up wins in the Shropshire Premier League, and both are still in with a chance of gaining promotion to the Birmingham League with one game remaining.
