Cricket

West Oxfordshire cricket club Shipton-under-Wychwood beat Surrey side Rowledge on Sunday to reach the Village Knockout Cup final at Lord's.

Hosts Shipton posted 155-8 before bowling the visitors out 23 runs short of their target.

The victory continues the Oxfordshire side's 15-year unbeaten home record in the competition.

The final at Lord's against North Yorkshire Sessay takes place at 11.00BST on Sunday 12th September.

Shipton have enjoyed considerable success in the competition over the last decade, winning the tournament in 2002 and 2003.

Captain Paul Hemming told BBC Oxford: "It's fantastic. One or two of us have been there before but I'm in my 40s so it is last chance saloon time for me.

"There are a few youngsters in there who haven't been there before and they are going to absolutely love it."
