Herefordshire look to strengthen their seam attack
Eastnor Cricket Ground will host the Herefordshire-Devon match
Herefordshire County Cricket Club are looking to bolster their seam bowling attack after a heavy Minor Counties Championship defeat by Berkshire.
Chairman of selectors Gwynne Jones says good seamers are proving hard to come by this season.
"Usually we have got a side sorted out by the Thursday or the Friday before we play," he said.
"I am just keeping my fingers crossed that the two we have asked will come through and say they can play."
Herefordshire will go into the game against Devon at Eastnor keen to bounce back from the disappointments of the Berkshire game in which they went down by an innings and five runs.
We are a good batting side but we struggle to bowl sides out and that has been our problem for a few years

Jones said it was frustrating as he feels the side is clearly better than that result would suggest but they now have to prove it although he knows Devon will provide a stiff test.
"They will be a strong side and we will struggle again as we haven't got the bowlers that we need," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"If we could find two really good seamers to open the attack then we would have a reasonably good side.
"We are a good batting side but we struggle to bowl sides out and that has been our problem for a few years," he added.
Despite the problems the side faces in the build up to the Devon match Jones says there is plenty to look forward to.
Uppermost in this is a visit to the picturesque ground at Eastnor which is always a favourite of the side and its supporters.
"We have had some problems with the weather at Eastnor in the past but the forecast for this weekend looks pretty good," he said.
"We enjoy going to Eastnor and Jim Sandford and his team there do a good job for us there as do the ladies with their lunches and teas.
"So we have a good time at Eastnor and we enjoy that so let's hope we get the right result to go with it."
