Suffolk stand-in captain Chris Swallow feels his side are genuine contenders in the MCCA Trophy after victory against Berkshire at Ipswich. The home side recovered from 130-7 to post 300-8 on their way to a seven-run win on Sunday. The result sees them through to the quarter-finals where they will face Shropshire on 13 June. Swallow told BBC Radio Suffolk: "If a little bit more belief comes through this side we really can go a long way." Suffolk were helped on their way to victory by a Freddie Klokker century and then some steady bowling during the Berkshire innings. "To get from 130-7 to 300 is a phenomenal effort and hopefully that proves to the boys the quality in depth we have in the side," said Swallow, who was deputising for regular skipper Justin Bishop. The Ipswich-based team are next in action against Lincolnshire in the Minor Counties Championship.
