Goode's team secured the title with a week of the season remaining |
Finedon Dolben have secured the Northants League's top division title for the eighth time in 11 seasons. Led by former Northants professional Chris Goode, Finedon settled the issue with a 98-run victory at Rushton. It leaves Northampton Saints and Rushden - who both won at the weekend - to play for second place in the Premier Division on the final Saturday. Desborough are relegated after losing to Rushden while fellow strugglers Brixworth managed their first win. Replacing Desborough in the Premier Division next year will be Wellingborough Town, who return to the top flight after a six-year absence. They claimed the Division One title after a draw with their long-time promotion rivals Geddington.
