Finedon Dolben kept themselves on course for the Northants League title after a thrilling finish against nearest challengers Northampton Saints.

Saints totalled 191-7 and Finedon, who needed seven to win off the last over, matched their opponents' score.

Finedon are 32 points clear with two games left, and will clinch their eighth title in 11 years if they beat Rushton this Saturday.

Rushden stay third despite a 149-run defeat against Old Northamptonians.

In the relegation zone, Brixworth have a potentially crucial eight-point advantage over fellow strugglers Desborough.

Meanwhile, in the race to move up into the Premier Division, Wellingborough Town lead Geddington by 43 points ahead of this weekend's meeting between the two sides.
