Norfolk beat Cambridgeshire by seven wickets with more than a day to spare in their final Minor Counties Championship match of the summer. Norfolk were set 190 to win in the second innings at Manor Park, and James Spellman and Trevor Ward saw them home. Norfolk spin bowler George Walker recorded career-best figures with 16 wickets in the match. Walker took 9-48 in the visitors' first innings of 145, the fourth best Minor Counties figures in Norfolk history. In the second innings, the left-armer took seven more wickets to help dismiss Cambridgeshire for 137. After getting 13 wickets on the first day of the match, Walker told BBC Radio Norfolk he was pleased with his day's work. "It was a bit of a bizarre day. Everything seemed to go my way and all the edges were caught so it was a good day." The Norwich-born bowler, who has also played first-class cricket for Leicestershire this summer, ended up with match figures of 16-96. The county's best ever figures were recorded in 1897 by Charlie Shaw, who took 10 for 50.
