Rushden fast bowler Aqab Ahmed claimed 8-26 as his side dented Northampton Saints' title hopes in the Northants League's Premier Division. Needing only to 85 to win, second-placed Saints crumbled to 78 all out and lost by six runs. They stay 14 points behind leaders Finedon Dolben who were also beaten, going down by five wickets to the Northamptonshire Academy side. And Old Northamptonians - in third spot - lost to bottom team Desborough. Wollaston captain Steve Musgrave also produced a notable bowling display, taking 7-24 to set up a five-wicket victory over Burton Latimer, and Stony Stratford edged out Peterborough by five runs with three balls to spare. Brixworth held on for a draw against Rushton and are now the only team in the division yet to win this season.
