Ebrahim's innings helped Stony Stratford to a fourth win of the season |
Former Zimbabwe batsman Dion Ebrahim steered Stony Stratford to a comfortable eight-wicket win over Brixworth in the Northants League. The veteran of 29 Tests and 82 one-day internationals hit an unbeaten 66 as Stony chased down 206 for victory. Finedon Dolben extended their lead to 14 points after beating Burton Latimer by six wickets at Avenue Road. Second-placed Northampton Saints lost ground as they had to settle for a winning draw against Rushton. Old Northamptonians, Peterborough and Rushden fill the next three places, courtesy of wins over Wollaston, Desborough and Northamptonshire Academy respectively. Desborough still look favourites for relegation as their heavy defeat at Peterborough left them 22 points adrift at the bottom and still chasing their first victory of the season.
