St Johns chased down main rivals Ramsey at Mullen-e-Cloie on Sunday to record a significant victory in the Standard Bank Premiership title race. Ramsey made a good start to the match, running up 268 from their 50 overs with Marc Pons-Burt hitting 84. Heavy rain then kept the players off the field and St John's were left a target of 252 from 47 overs. After losing early wickets Arne van der Berg produced an amazing unbeaten 94 to guide his side to victory. With Cronkbourne and Castletown both suffering shock defeats St John's are now in pole position to take the title. Castletown lost by four wickets against Crosby whilst Cronkbourne fell by the same margin to the gritty Loaghtyn Rams.
