Foster leads Shrewsbury recovery

Shrewsbury climbed out of the bottom two in the Birmingham League Premier Division by beating Barnt Green.

Ed Foster hit 80 and Ryan Bishop 48 in Shrewsbury's 209-5, as they easily outran Green's 208-8.

In Division One, Aussie pro Sean Clingeleffer top-scored with 40 in Wellington's 180-9, but West Bromwich Dartmouth dug in for a draw at 125-6.

Luke Wells shot 45 as Shifnal made 209-6, but they lost by six wickets to Attock (210-7).

St George's, replying to Ombersley's 152-9, were rescued by the rain at 56-6, but their Second Division relegation worries continue.

In Division Three, it is a Shropshire one-two at the top.

Bridgnorth stayed in pole position, despite being held to a draw by Studley. Jono Whitney's 5-47 pinned Studley down to 126, and David Exall hit 43 as Bridgnorth reached 106-6 when the rain came.

Whitchurch are three points off the pace after a convincing win over Lichfield. Dan Bowen took 4-46 as Lichfield slumped to 111, before Maisam Hasnain's unbeaten 66 took Whitchurch to 112-0 for a 10-wicket win.

Rajat Bhatia's unbeaten 62 helped Newport (105-8) to a battling draw in reply to Fordhouses' 143-9.

In the Shropshire Premier League, the lead changed again, with Quatt taking over top-spot.

They wiped out title rivals Reman's, hitting 132 (Dean Robinson 33, Mal Serplet 8-41) before skittling the opposition for just 18 (Gareth Jones 6-9, Barry Jones 3-9).

Oswestry were knocked off first place after rain interrupted their game. Madeley made 167-7 (Mudassir Pasha 44, Steve Pugh 40), and Oswestry had reached 129-3 (John Fawcett 30, Craig McLean 21no) when the game came to an early end.

Other scores: Wem 158 (Martin Gaunt 46, Mark Ellis 36, Jason Summers 4-34), Albrighton 68-3 (Ian Bissell 53no). Rain stopped play.

Newtown 80 (Kuleep Diwan 6-18), Much Wenlock 81-1 (Ian Middleton 40no). Much Wenlock won by nine wickets.

Allscott 246 (Carl Starling 73, Jason Allen 39) beat Shelton (80) by 169 runs.

Ludlow 210 (Sam Edwards 64, Will Sparrow 32, Chris Nunn 3-32), Broseley 41-7 (Ali Raza 5-14). Rain stopped play.

Welshpool v Bomere Heath - no play.
