Devon finished day two of their Minor Counties Championship fixture against Berkshire at Newbury with a healthy lead of 158. In reply to Devon's first innings 377, Berkshire ended the day on 219-5 with just 12 of their 90 overs remaining. Devon's captain Bob Dawson took 2-25, removing Berkshire's David Barnes for 57 and Jono Mclean for 23. In the final session, Chris Metters also picked up two vital wickets, including that of Steve Naylor for 49.
