Messingham almost pulled off the escape of the season on the final day of the Lincolnshire Premier league. Andy Foster took seven wickets as they were bowled out for 75 by Caistor, who looked set for an easy victory at 75-3. But Messingham then took six wickets for no runs in nine overs, before the home side struck the winning run to scrape home by one wicket. In the only other game to go ahead, Grimsby beat Lindum by 24 runs with Jonathan Miller claiming six wickets.
