Cobo have won the Guernsey Cricket Championship after a seventh straight league win. Cobo beat Rovers by 68 runs at KGV, and even though second placed Wanderers also won, Cobo now have an unassailable lead at the top of the table. Cobo's batsmen led the way, scoring 218-5 in a rain hit 38 overs. Matt Oliver hit 60, Peter Vidamour 41 and Jamie Nussbaumer was 38 not out. Rovers could only make 150-6 in their 38 overs in reply. Wanderers clinched the runners-up spot as they beat bottom of the table Optimists by 129 runs at Port Soif. Batting first in a rain-reduced 40 overs, Wanderers hit 259-2 as Ben Driver scored 98 not out and Ross Kneller 95 not out in a dominant third wicket stand. In reply Optis were bowled out for 130, Adam Hindle getting 39 as Ben Taylor scored 4 for 22. The defeat for Optimists confirms them as the bottom side for the 2008 season and means they fail to qualify for the Channel Islands Championship. Rovers and Argyll Investment have both qualified for the CI Championships but they still have third place to play for. Elizabeth College cannot qualify for the inter-island event.
