Jersey beat Botswana by seven wickets to remain unbeaten in the World Cricket League Division Five tournament after four group matches.

The island team won the toss and put Botswana in to bat, where they bowled them all out for 66 in 39.3 overs.

In reply Jersey easily reached their target of 67 in just 15.2 overs, losing three wickets in the process.

Jersey will be guaranteed a semi-final place if Afghanistan or Japan suffer a second loss in their remaining matches.

Jersey's bowling proved too much for the African team, after 12.1 overs their score was a meagre 16-5.

Botswana's seventh wicket partnership was the most successful when Omar Ali and Manon Barot made 23.

Barot was also Botswana's top run-maker with 16.

Jersey's bowling figures were exemplary with Ryan Driver claiming 3-10 and Tony Carlyon taking 2-12.

Jersey never looked threatened in their reply, with Peter Gough top-scoring for the island with an unbeaten 39 from 43 balls.

However, Steve Carlyon and Chris Jones were both caught out for a duck while looking for the big runs.

Jamie Brewster added 15 to help Jersey cruise to the required 67 with 34.4 overs to spare.

Jersey face Afghanistan on Wednesday at Grainville, where a win will ensure the hosts reach the semi-finals.

But if Afghanistan beat Jersey, and Singapore win against both Bahamas and Japan the Group B semi-final places will be decided on run rate.
