A buoyant South Africa go into the World Cup as the top-ranked one-day team, having overtaken Australia with series wins over Pakistan (3-1) and India (4-0) on home soil.
Graeme Smith's side have won four of their last five one-day matches, and a strong squad containing leading all-rounders Jacques Kallis, Shaun Pollock, Andrew Hall and Justin Kemp will be looking to improve on two World Cup semi-final appearances.
"Confidence within the set-up is extremely high," said Smith.
