The Kiwis also inflicted a first 10-wicket defeat on Australia in the second match, with openers Lou Vincent and skipper Stephen Fleming reaching the target of 149 in just 27 overs.

But the Black Caps lost six out of eight matches in the Commonwealth Bank triangular series, allowing England - the eventual winners - to snatch a spot in the final against Australia.
