Lawson joins Tino Best and Fidel Edwards in a potent attack |
Pace bowler Jermaine Lawson has been recalled to the West Indies Test squad after a 12-month absence. Lawson took 7-78 as West Indies beat Australia in Antigua last May but his bowling action was subsequently called into question.
He has worked to re-model his action and has been named in a 13-man squad for Friday's first Test against Bangladesh in St Lucia.
The selectors have also called up Ravi Rampaul and spinner Dave Mohammed.
Four players - Ryan Hinds, Daren Ganga Corey Collymore and Richardo Powell - have been dropped after playing in the final match of the recent home series against England, which West Indies lost 3-0.
West Indies squad: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan, Chris Gayle, Devon Smith, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dwayne Smith, Ridley Jacobs, Ravi Rampaul, Tino Best, Fidel Edwards, Jermaine Lawson, Pedro Collins, Dave Mohammed.
