Miandad is unhappy with criticism |
Pakistan coach Javed Miandad has called for a meeting with the national board chairman after coming under fire from chief selector Aamer Sohail. Miandad is unhappy with recent comments from Sohail apparently criticising his coaching methods.
And he has asked to thrash out "pressing issues" with Pakistan Cricket Board chief Tauqir Zia.
"If anyone thinks he can do a better job than me as coach he is welcome to come and give it a try," Miandad said.
"I don't need any advice from anyone. What I have done with the team is visible to everyone. I am committed and trying hard.
"I think everyone knows what I have delivered since the World Cup."
He was responding to Sohail's comments, who said earlier in the week: "I think that more concentration and professionalism is required to exploit the abilities and skills of the players."
Miandad returned for a third spell as coach after Pakistan failed to qualify for the second round of the World Cup earlier this year.
Sohail was also appointed chief selector and promptly dropped several senior players from the squad.
Pakistan won the first one-day international against South Africa by eight runs on Friday.
The two sides will meet again in Lahore on Sunday for the second ODI of a five-match series.
