Tour match, Visakhapatnam. India Board President's XI 227-1 drew with New Zealand Akash Chopra has emerged as a possible candidate for the first Test against New Zealand.
In a three-day match in which just 85 overs were played due to frequent rain, Chopra batted throughout to finish on 103 not out.
He swept a delivery from Paul Wiseman for four to bring up his century before the captains agreed on a draw.
The 26-year-old right-handed batsman added 166 in an unbroken second-wicket partnership with Yuvraj Singh.
Yuvraj, having spent the last few months struggling to find form playing for Yorkshire in England, finished on 80 not out.
Just 10.2 overs were playable on Friday followed by no play at all on Saturday.
Picking up at 23-0 on Sunday morning, India batted without not out captain Virender Sehwag who retired on nine not out with an unspecified illness.
The only success for the tourists was the wicket of Shiv Sunder Das, caught behind off Ian Butler's bowling for 16.
Spinners Wiseman and Daniel Vettori bowled one ball short of 50 overs between them without taking a wicket.
