Isle of Man team manager Trevor Taubman says that the Commonwealth Games have been successful for the Manx after winning two bronze medals. Cyclist Mark Christian won their first medal in the 40km points race, while shooter Tim Kneale also won bronze in the individual double trap. The Manx finished 31st in the medal table and came second to Nauru in terms of medals per population. Taubman told BBC Isle of Man: "I am so proud of everyone involved." "We have consistently delivered in every sport and the medals are just brilliant. "Mark and Tim will take the accolades, but many of the Manx athletes were close to adding more. The Isle of Man finish their Games with a medal per 40,029, followed closely by Samoa and the Cayman Islands. Nauru finished with two medals, one per 5,000 people, while England won 142 medals, which is a medal per 362,324. Taubman continued: "I have to say the Games have been a huge success from a Manx perspective and the facilities have been first-class. "I have heard many people say it has been better than Beijing, so that says it all really. "The calibre of our performances, incredible team spirit and fantastic facilities will be my memories of the Delhi Games." Fourteen-year-old archer Aalin George will carry the Manx flag at the closing ceremony on Thursday.
