Sharp-shooter Hammond wins rifle gold Manx shooter Harry Creevy was left disappointed as he finished outside the top ten in the 50m prone rifle event at the Commonwealth Games on Wednesday. Creevy arrived in Delhi as one of the Island's best medal hopes after winning gold for Great Britain at the World Championships in Munich. He missed out on a shoot-off by a single shot and was just two away from automatic qualification for the final. In the end his score of 589/600 was only good enough for 12th place. The competition was won by Scotland's Jonathan Hammond with a score of 595. Team Manager Peter Quirk with Harry Creevy |

Elsewhere, Lara Ward finished 14th in the women's individual 50m prone rifle competition with a score of 579/600, while Gemma Kermode hit 573 to finish 16th.
