Sullivan leads England to semis

England's Andrew Sullivan is the tournament's top scorer so far
England reached the semi-finals of the men's basketball tournament after an easy 95-53 win over South Africa.

The victory means they will play the favourites and hosts Australia in the semi-finals.

Newcastle Eagles forward Andrew Sullivan was again in form, scoring 16 of his 23 points in the first half.

England raced away in the second quarter to lead by 21 points, 47-26 and they controlled the match after that to run out comfortable winners.

"This was a big game for us," said coach Peter Scantlebury. "We were a little bit disappointed with how we played against New Zealand the other night.

"We knew we didn't play as well as we could and had to bounce back.

"Now we're in the semi-finals. One win could get us a medal, two wins will get us a gold. Our guys have done a great job to get to this point; our goal coming here was to get a medal."
