England maintained their perfect start to the women's basketball competition with a resounding win over India. Andrea Congreaves and Shelly Boston top-scored with 17 points apiece as England backed up Thursday's win over Mozambique by romping home 104-57.
There was no such joy for England's men who slumped to a 84-63 defeat at the hands of New Zealand.
England veteran John Amaechi refused to be downbeat: "New Zealand are tough," he said. "They will go a long way."
The former NBA star added: "As a team we have a lot to learn. Our young players need a lot of nurturing and an opportunity like this is great for them."
The result leaves the men's team with one win from two games following Thursday's success against Barbados. Their next match is against South Africa on Monday.
The women are second in their group, despite their 100% record, and play hosts Australia on Sunday.
