 The Icon Classic saw premier ocean paddlers race over 12km |
Cornwall's former Olympic kayaker Glen Eldridge has claimed the inaugural Icon Classic ocean-surf ski race in Devon. Eldridge led for much of the 12km race between Woolacombe and Combe Martin, and eventually finished in one minute, 17.17 seconds. Second-place went to former World Kayak Marathon champion Ivan Lawler, while Mark Ressel finished in third. The first woman to cross the line was 2012 Olympic hopeful Jenna Hawkey, who finished 10 minutes behind Eldridge.
