 The Icon Classic will see premier ocean paddlers race over 12km |
Final preparations have begun ahead of the inaugural Icon Classic from Woolacombe to Combe Martin. The 12km ocean-surf ski race is ocean-racing in a kayak, which originates from surf life-saving. The event, which takes place on Saturday, is invitation only and will see more than 30 of Britain's premier ocean paddlers compete. Among those competing will be six times world marathon kayak champion and three times Olympian Ivan Lawler. Woolacombe paddler Mark Ressel will also compete.
