Pryce flies to the US with Joe Calzaghe and Nathan Cleverly |
Wales' Bradley Pryce will face the experienced Norberto Bravo on the undercard of Joe Calzaghe v Bernard Hopkins in Las Vegas on 19 April. The Commonwealth light-middleweight champion is on the bill, alongside three stable-mates in Calzaghe himself and unbeaten Nathan Cleverly. Bravo, 37, from Tucson, has a record of 25 wins, 15 losses and three draws. "He's experienced and a banger, but if I perform, get behind the jab and start punching I'll stop it," said Pryce, 27. | 606: DEBATE |
"Then I hope to be in action again in May or June, possibly in another defence of my Commonwealth title," the Newport man told the South Wales Echo. Pryce has a record of 26 wins and six defeats, his last loss against Michael Jennings back in October 2005. Bravo, who turns 38 on 12 April, usually campaigns at middleweight, and it remains to be seen what weight the fight will be made at. The Arizonan has appeared in Vegas nine times in his 17-fight career, but is best known for finishing fourth in the second series of reality TV boxing show "Contender". Pryce, Calzaghe and Cleverly fly to America on 5 April to begin their acclimatisation. Blackwood light-heavyweight Cleverly is yet to find out the identity of his opponent. The 21-year-old has a 100% record from 11 fights, with three knock-outs.
