Bradford's Junior Witter has offered to fight WBO light welterweight champion Miguel Cotto in New York on 11 June. The Puerto Rican is scheduled to fight at Madison Square Garden, possibly against Gianluca Branco.
Witter was due to fight Branco in February before the Italian pulled out - leaving Witter to beat Lovemore N'Dou on his American debut.
Witter said: "What has Branco done to deserve this shot? He's scared of his own shadow and proved it last month."
Witter looked impressive in beating N'Dou and afterwards was signed up by American Oscar de la Hoya in his role as a promoter.
The British, Commonwealth and European champion had wanted to fight WBC champion Arturo Gatti on 11 June, but Floyd Mayweather eventually agreed terms after stalling.
Gatti-Mayweather will now take place in Atlantic City on 25 June.

Witter, 31, added: "It's Puerto Rican day on 12 June. Let's have a marquee fight to go with it, not one that would be conning the fans.
"I put in a much better performance against N'Dou than Cotto did, flooring him twice, even though I fractured my hand during the fight.
"I am hopeful he will step up to the plate, even though he turned me down as an opponent before Christmas.
"Floyd Mayweather has also ducked a fight against me. The only reason Gatti eventually signed to fight Mayweather was because it was an easier option than me.
"I am not sure what is going on at the WBO. Surely even before the N'Dou fight I should have been number one contender.
"I go to America and prove myself against world-class N'Dou and now somehow in the latest rankings I find myself at number six.
"I should be their mandatory contender. I deserve that position and am asking the WBO to do the right thing here and hold an enquiry into this."
