Junior Witter has been signed up by Oscar de la Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions following his win over Lovemore N'Dou on Saturday. However, Witter's return will be delayed by a broken hand sustained in his Commonwealth light welterweight title defence in Los Angeles.
De la Hoya said: "Now I can see why nobody wants to fight Junior Witter.
"He's now mandatory challenger for Arturo Gatti's (WBC) belt. Junior Witter is ready for anybody."
Bradford's Witter knocked down his South African opponent twice en route to a unanimous decision.
And former six-weight world champion De la Hoya is excited about matching Witter with the all-action Gatti.

"Witter reminded me of Naseem Hamed and we all know that Hamed is a superstar in America," said De la Hoya.
"Bring Witter against Gatti at 140lbs and you will have a mega-fight and that is what we are looking for now."
However, with Witter injured and Gatti due to fight Floyd Mayweather in June, De la Hoya's plan is not guaranteed to come off.
Witter's three-fight deal represents a major coup for himself and promoter Mick Hennessy and ends years of frustration following his 2000 title failure against Zab Judah.
Witter said: "Nodody can touch me at light welterweight. I'm very excited at this link because Oscar is a big name and he's got the contacts."
The deal extends to Nottingham's British and Commonwealth middleweight champion Carl Froch, whose fight was cancelled at the Staples Center at the last moment.
