British duo get Golden Boy boost
Junior Witter
Boxing promoter Oscar de la Hoya has pledged to improve the US profiles of Junior Witter and Carl Froch.

The president of Golden Boy Promotions made the pair his first British signings and will now co-promote their American bouts with Mick Hennessy.

"They are two future stars and we want US fans to see them as they fight their way to world titles," said De la Hoya.

"At Golden Boy we pride ourselves on providing boxing fans with the top talent from around the world."

Hennessy - the British promoter of light welterweight Witter and super middleweight Froch - lent his support to the deal.

"I am very pleased to have Golden Boy Promotions as our co-promoter for Junior and Carl in the US," he said.

"They are a first-class organization and this is the perfect situation for us to expose two of our finest boxers in the sport's largest market."

Both fighters are expected to be back in action this spring in bouts to be announced shortly.
