Arthur beat Michael Kizza in his last fight back in March |
Alex Arthur says he is hoping to emulate Scott Harrison when he takes on Eric Odumasi at the Royal Highland Centre on 22 October. Harrison defeated Odumasi in the 12th round of a Commonwealth featherweight title defence four years ago.
And Arthur, the IBF Intercontinental super-featherweight champion, is confident he can do the same.
"At that stage I had just turned professional and I watched it on television," Arthur said.
"Odumasi tried to set a really fast tempo from the start and I think he tried to out-work Scott and obviously that doesn't happen.
"As the fight went on he took a bigger and bigger beating before Scott knocked him out in the last round.
"But he looked good, he was strong, aggressive and obviously he was a featherweight then but I can't see him having more than one style of fighting."
Arthur's last outing was against Michael Kizza, when he won his title by knocking out the Ugandan in the first round.
"I expect Odumasi to extend me more than Kizza, no question about it. But that's what I want," he said.
"In a sense, I felt a bit aggrieved that I beat him so quickly and it seemed more disappointing because I had made so many changes."
The fight will take place on the undercard of Joe Calzaghe's WBO super-middleweight title defence.
