Lloyd Taggart on way to victory in the opening round

Lloyd Taggart won the opening round of the Winter Hill League at Cringle Plantation on Saturday.

Amid muddy conditions Taggart completed the challenging two-and-a-half mile route in 15 minutes 29 seconds to take victory.

Simon Skillicorn finished 30 seconds behind Taggart with Andy Barron third.

Jackie Lee was the first woman home in 18 minutes 53 seconds, with Rosy Craine second and Lesley Webb third - Jason Moore won the junior competition.

The second round will be held on the 13 November.
