Garland ran at the Commonwealth Games in both 2002 and 2006 |
Guernsey athlete Dale Garland is not ruling out competing at next month's Commonwealth Games in Delhi. The 400m hurdle runner was unable to take part in the inter insular last weekend because of an Achilles injury. Garland told BBC Guernsey: "No decision has been made yet, definitely not - but I'll be doing everything I can to make the start line in the hurdles. "If the body doesn't let me then I'll change things around and will hopefully be in good shape for the other events." He added: "Hopefully I'll get a scan in the next couple of days and that'll let them check what damage has been done if any to the Achilles. "So if the Achilles is fully intact then fine, and I'm in a lot better position than I thought I was in."
