Hubbard competes for the Birchfield Harriers Athletics Club |
Lincolnshire high jumper Vicki Hubbard has won the English Championships and reached the Commonwealth Games qualification height in the process. The competition in Gateshead was the first the 21-year-old from Grantham has been involved in since recovering from a virus. Hubbard told BBC Lincolnshire: "I have only been training again for the past two weeks or so. "Gateshead was just a see where you are at really, but I made the standard." She added: "It is now all about staying fit and healthy and hopefully I will be selected. "Three of us have made the 1.84 standard and England can take three competitors."
