Grantham athlete Vicki Hubbard is the national indoor high jump champion after taking victory at the UK Championships in Sheffield. The 20-year-old was the only competitor to clear a height of 1.87 metres. Loughborough-based Hubbard said: "I'm just coming back from two years of injuries so I'm happy with the win." She will now take part in a meeting in Split, Croatia in a bid to reach the 1.92m qualifying standard for the World Championships in Qatar in March. In the women's 60m, Wyberton's Bernice Wilson was second to Joice Maduaka in a time of 7.39 seconds. Jenny Pacey from Lincoln was fourth in the long jump with a best of 5.98m.
