Guernsey's athletes were on top form for the Channel Islands Athletic Club on the opening weekend of the National League season. Ross Hanley won the triple jump in Ashford with a season's best performance of 13.57 metres. There were also wins for Dale Garland (400m), Tom Druce (200m) and Lee Garland (3,000m steeplechase). At the women's meeting in Gateshead, Louise Perrio won both the 3,000m steeplechase and the 200m. After competing in five events, Kylie Robilliard's best finish came in the 110m hurdles, where she grabbed second place.
